We are less than a month away from the most famous women’s tennis tournament in the region. WTA Makarska Open hosted by Valamar takes place from June 3 to 9 in Makarska, it is its 18th edition in Croatia, the third in the town under Biokovo, and the organizers are once again announcing a great entertainment program.

Everything starts at the Tennis Center with a concert by Petr Dragojević on June 3 from 8:30 p.m. During the tennis week, the audience will be entertained by DJs during sports breaks, while one of the strongest assets of this year’s entertainment part of the WTA Makarska Open is the popular Frajle. With a concert on June 7 at 9 p.m. on the stage of the Tennis Center, they will introduce sports and music fans to the weekend of the semifinals and finals. The great friends of the tournament, the Cambi group, announced their arrival in Makarska again this year, whose performance was announced for Saturday, June 8.

Raffles, sports workshops, fun Kids Day on June 6, which will bring kids and parents together again, along with unique beaches and Dalmatian ambience, are all the more reason to spend the beginning of June in Makarska.

Tennis players are also delighted with this city, who enjoy playing at the WTA Makarska Open hosted by Valamar, and behind the scenes of the Tennis Center they will relax in the attractive DALMACIJA [PLACEHOTEL] by Valamar.

“By organizing and supporting numerous events, Valamar continuously contributes to the development of tourism and thus develops the destinations in which it operates. I am especially glad when we can support sports events like the WTA Makarska Open tournament, which will once again attract the world’s tennis elite and global media attention this year. Thanks to our partnership, the local Makarska Tennis Center was also renovated, which works all year round and enriches the sports facilities and activities that are open to all citizens of Makarska,” said Davor Brenko, senior vice president for sales and marketing at Valamar
Riviera.

CROATIAN TENNIS PLAYER PETRI MARČINKO’S THIRD WILD CARD

“In addition to good entertainment, this year we are also expecting a superb sports spectacle. The sports part of the program begins with the drawing of lots, on June 3 at 3 p.m. in our Tennis Center, which we have turned into the most beautiful sports oasis. In it, all visitors will surely enjoy the shade of a pine tree, first row by the sea”, says tournament director Feliks Lukas, who, along with Tena Lukas and Lucija Ćirć Bagrarić, awarded the third wild card to Petra Marčinko, the former number one junior player in the world, currently the 218th tennis player in the WTA ranking. Lukas also received a letter of support from the center of the WTA organization.

“As a global leader in women’s sports, the WTA organization is proud to once again be able to show the best of women’s tennis in the wonderful surroundings of the city of Makarska. As part of the WTA 125 series, the Makarska Open provides a valuable opportunity to compete on the international stage, bringing established WTA players from all over the world, but also providing young people with the opportunity to advance to the highest level. I would like to thank all partners, employees and volunteers who continuously raise the bar in quality, both on the tennis courts and in the entertainment part of the tournament, but also in our joint mission of advocating women’s sports”, wrote Steve Simon, CEO of the WTA tennis organization.

If you want to be a part of this spectacle, you can buy a ticket online at promotional prices and thus support Dalmatian athletes with disabilities in a humanitarian campaign, because this year all proceeds from the sale of tickets go to the Parasports Association of Split-Dalmatia County.
